Ok. So previously I had an issue purchasing tokens. I paid, but did not receive any tokens. I emailed the developers and received a response by the next business day. They informed me I would have to contact Apple. Apple was able to give me a refund.
It seems the app has received a new update. New puzzles! Yay! This game is highly addictive. Since the update I decided to give it another try and buy tokens. This time it worked!
